Advancing our Manufacturing Capability

Investments continued across our facilities spanning CDMO, Affordable Medicines and FDF. These expansions are reinforcing our commitment to being a high-quality development and manufacturing partner at scale, including in advanced therapies.

Our development and manufacturing network continued to expand during the year in line with the growing scale and complexity of the business. With a strong base across APIs, formulations and CDMO services, we remained focused on strengthening core manufacturing assets, progressing key expansion projects and adding capabilities aligned to future customer requirements.

Integrated Manufacturing Platform

We operate an integrated manufacturing platform anchored by large-scale small molecule and formulation capacities, supported by specialised capabilities across fermentation and advanced therapies. Key technology platforms include high potent chemistry, bio-catalysis, flow technology, trickle bed hydrogenation, continuous manufacturing and spray drying, strengthening our ability to support a broader mix of products, processes and customer requirements

Network Strength across Locations

Our manufacturing footprint in Visakhapatnam remains the core of the network, spanning API, drug substance and finished dosage facilities. This is complemented by fermentation capabilities in Bengaluru, development infrastructure in Hyderabad and cell therapy manufacturing through our associate, ImmunoACT, in Mumbai. Together, these assets support a broader and more integrated development and manufacturing offering across customer programs.

Expanding our Capabilities

Our capital allocation remained focused on growth-oriented projects, directed towards API and CDMO manufacturing expansion. Cumulative capex from FY 2021-22 to FY 2025-26 stood at ₹ 4,350+ crore, while FY 2025-26 capex was ₹ 1,070 crore, representing 16% of revenue.

Commercial peptides manufacturing

We continued to invest in commercial-scale peptides manufacturing to support pipeline opportunities. During the year, several peptide synthesisers were installed and qualified, along with purification and isolation capabilities, strengthening our ability to support more complex programs.

Client-specific oral dosage expansion

Client-specific CMO oral dosage capacity became operational during the year. This was further supported by the implementation of an additional packaging line, while the full commercial production line is expected to start from June 2026.

Microbial fermentation facility, Visakhapatnam

Construction of the Vizag microbial fermentation facility progressed through the year, with Phase 1 capacity of around 400 KL planned to strengthen our fermentation manufacturing base. The project remained on track for operations by end-2026.

Gene therapy/ADC manufacturing facility, Hyderabad

We continued to advance the Gene therapy/ADC cGMP facility in Hyderabad, following the groundbreaking in June 2025. The facility is expected to be completed by end-2026 and is being built with capabilities for plasmid DNA, viral vectors (such as AAV), bioconjugation, lyophilisation and sterile fill-finish. Planned investment in the site is over ₹ 200 crore.

Commercial spray drying capability

Commercial spray drying capacity remained one of the identified capability additions within the manufacturing build-out for the year, broadening our process and formulation-linked manufacturing toolkit.

KRKA JV formulation facility, Hyderabad

Construction also progressed at the KRKA JV finished formulation manufacturing site in Hyderabad. The Phase 1 expansion is expected to be completed in mid-2027, adding to our future formulations manufacturing footprint.
